Ghazal's Wiki on Impressionism

1. Impressionism

Impressionisn is a kind of art movement which was started by a group of French painters who decided to get rid of the old ways of performing art. The lines were removed and replaced by rounded shapes or tiny dots, and dark shadows became colourful and bright. These painters enjoyed painting outside in fresh air, and thats how the term plein air painting started. Plein air means ''outside'' in French. Impressionism started in the 19th century around the 1870s to 1880s. The movement got its name from painter Claude Monet with his work called "Impression Sunrise." This important movement later inspired "Impressionist music" and "Impressionist literature."
